Cairo Photo Week (CPW) is a 10-day photography & image- making festival in the heart of historic Downtown Cairo organized by Photopia targeting the Egyptian and regional photography community, bringing local, regional international immersive educational experience to the emerging image makers. The diverse program covers a wide spectrum of genres of photography (Documentary, photojournalism, cinematography, experimental practices in fashion, food, contemporary, mixed-media, cinematography, NFTs, art direction, and all imagemaking practices. Activities include Exhibitions & professional meet-ups & networking.

2023 Edition will host 100+ Keynote Instructors and Speakers from Egypt, the USA, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Denmark,,Tunis, Morocco & KSA.

Our educational direction this edition will focus on & reconnect with the origins of the photographic practice as applied to so many contexts, formats and genres: hence the word RAW is our theme – metaphorically not literally; the origins that have been alienated over the past few years because of the invasion of social media as an alternative platform a “fast photo” trend that lacks the basics of the craft. We will reconnect, revive and re-introduce the proper practice to our audience in attempt to pause the “fast photo” culture sabotaging the lens-based art & profession.
